Flipping Around At 10

Watching a little of each station tonight. Nice to see Liza Danver and Josh Brogadir getting to fill in on the desk. Single anchor shows too can be tough.

Congrats to Lisa Miller (a good reporter and big fan of my baby boy) on winning the award for Best Hard News Story and Bob Larson for Best Anchor at the Illinois Broadcasters Association Awards dinner tonight. Only caught the 31 winners, if anyone can fill me in on the others I'd appreciate it.

WEEK-TV did very well overall. For the third year since the joined the IBA, KFVS in Cape Girardeau won station of the year for media markets. They are a much bigger station than Springfield, Decatur, Champaign, Peoria, Rockford and the Quad Cities. They had the most finalists with 12. WEEK-TV had the second most finalists with 11. We tied for second with WMBD-TV on overall points. We had three first place finishes. We swept the Community Service Award winning for our Race For The Cure coverage. Melissa Dunton won for best live coverage with the Mitsubishi layoffs and the website won for Mediaum television markets.
